Request for Help Securing Reliable Transportation for Medical Care (Kalamazoo)

Hello,
I’m reaching out with a request that’s a little difficult to put into words, but important nonetheless.
Our current vehicle has over 250,000 miles on it and has reached the point where it’s no longer reliable. Unfortunately, this has become a serious concern, as I’ve recently been diagnosed with a brain tumor causing Cushing’s disease. Many of my medical appointments require traveling nearly three hours each way, and safe, dependable transportation is no longer optional — it’s essential.
To add a bit of context, my boyfriend has been in remission from Burkitt’s lymphoma for four years. While we’re incredibly grateful for that milestone, the medical and financial impact of years of serious illness has made it impossible for us to secure a reliable vehicle on our own.
We’re doing our best to stay positive and keep moving forward (literally and figuratively), but at this point, our well-worn car simply can’t be trusted to get us to critical appointments safely. That’s why I’m reaching out to ask if you might be willing to help us obtain a reliable vehicle or guide us toward resources that could help make that possible.
This request comes with humility and gratitude. Any support, guidance, or connection — no matter how small — would make a meaningful difference in our ability to access ongoing medical care safely.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for any consideration you’re able to give.
With appreciation,
Kristi Caflisch
