1974 440 Mopar short block. Rebuilt .030 over with less than 500 miles on it. Owner said it was running at 220-230 degrees and couldn't get it run cooler so he got fed up and pulled it and swapped in a modern engine. After I got it I pulled the heads and saw some very small valve marks on two pistons that you can see if you look closely in the last picture. I don't know the specs on the cam but he described it as mild. Aluminum water pump housing and water neck. Cylinders look great and most of the carbon just wiped right off of the pistons. I would pull it apart just for inspection before I ran it but I suspect there's not a whole lot if anything wrong with it. I honestly think the aluminum water pump housing is the culprit. $750.00.
