Schecter's Custom Shop Avenger model was first made in 1997. This was part of a limited first run, with only two luthiers in the Custom Shop building the guitars, it is now considered a rare and collectible instrument.
In the 1990s, Schecter had an expanded custom shop with a focus on high-quality, handmade instruments. The "Avenger" model was specifically produced as a custom shop instrument for this limited run. The glory years of the Schecter custom shop was 1995-2000.
The Avenger was one of the first non-Fender-style designs introduced by the company's new president, Michael Ciravolo, and was produced as a high-end, USA custom-made instrument during that era.

Body: solid body design one-piece Honduran mahogany drop top .
Neck: 1/4 sawn maple neck one-piece construction with a ebony fingerboard and Custom pitchfork inlays. The neck has a comfortable profile and excellent fretwork.
Scale Length: standard 25.5"
Pickups: DiMarzio PAF Pro (neck) and Tone Zone (bridge) humbuckers w/push-pull pots for coil splitting.
Hardware: High-end Sperzel locking tuners
Original German Floyd Rose tremolo system.
The wiring includes quality CTS pots.
