I bought this maybe 8 ish years ago ... at the time thinking I might get a band going again. Didn't happen and life has gotten busier ... and I just decided to liquidate a bunch of stuff and go digital ... plus I'm not playing out at the moment and don't see that happening soon. This one deserves to be played.
About the amp:
Late ‘70s true Silverface Deluxe Reverb with the short-lived black control panel (not a Rivera-era amp).
Previously serviced (electrolytics replaced with Sprague caps in 2013)
I’ve owned it ~7-8 years; has seen very light use during that time
3-prong AC cord installed
Death cap, ground switch, boost circuit removed
Some resistors/caps replaced during prior service (before I owned - 2013 according to my notes)
’60s Oxford 12T6 speaker (large magnet, closer to C12N-style tone)
Tubes are a mix of new and NOS; currently running JJ power tubes
Has been gigged, as you may expect from an amp of this vintage
Great sounding
I reseated the tubes today, powered it up and played through it for about 30 minutes today. Some scratchy pots but otherwise was sounding great. That said, it hasn’t seen much use over the past several years, so might want to be prepared for potential service, given the age of the amp.
Happy to answer other questions as best I can as well.
