_________________________________________

Observe the wonders of the universe at Owl Observatory! The Observatory now features a 16" Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope. In addition, telescopes of all kinds will be set up near the observatory, located at the Kalamazoo Nature Center (7000 North Westnedge Ave.).
Upcoming observing date:
Saturday, July 31
Highlights of the night include Jupiter, Saturn, and the Deep Sky Objects of the Summer Triangle.

Observing Begins: 9:30 pm

Along with observing through telescopes, KAS members will be on hand at the start of each session to conduct a Telescope Clinic. Beginners can learn how to properly setup and use their telescopes.

Each session also features a Constellation Workshop. Learn to read a simple star map (provided free of charge) and find bright stars and constellations on your own. The workshop is followed by a guided tour of the night sky.

Sessions will be canceled if the sky is mostly cloudy or overcast. For cancellation information, please visit the KAS website starting at 6:00 pm on the day of the session. For more information, a complete schedule of Public Observing Sessions, and any pandemic precautions, please visit our website: http://www.kasonline.org/. You can also follow the KAS on Twitter and/or Facebook.
