Original Acrylic Painting by artist, Rex Schneider, on heavy board approximately 20 x 24 inches. I've added two views of the reverse side.
Exact date unknown but at least 55 years old - about 1965.
Although the artist did not identify the portrait, I call it MAE BUSCH, actress under Erich Von Stroheim and popular character comedienne in many of the best Laurel & Hardy shorts and features.
“The ever popular Mae Bush” - as Jackie Gleason joyously boasted.
The painting is signed by the artist (see second image for closeup of signature).
See the photograph of Rex Schneider and some of his other creations in his Baltimore shop, General Eclectic, 1972.
Among Rex Schneider’s books are, “I’m Nobody Who Are You?” (Poems of Emily Dickinson for Children), “The Wide-Mouthed Frog”, “Remembering Frogville”, "Ain't We Got Fun", "It Happened One Hallowe'en" . . .
We can have the painting framed at buyers expense, but contact us for particulars and cost.

Trivia: The artist's portrait of Elizabeth Bathory (see image) isn't currently in the offing because there is a curse on his family Escutcheon.
