Let the downsizing continue - on to the favorite pieces.
This is an antique Queen "Style K" Chick Incubator. It has a wooden top (see pictures) but we chose to put an old school slate on top so the grandkids could use chalk while eating.
These sell for upwards of $500 or even more without the tray or sometimes the heater. So this is a good deal.

The "Style K incubator" didn't change much from the early 1900s-1920s. Looking online and where the advertising is located, I believe this might be from the early 1920s but could be earlier.
Bit of info I found online: This 130-egg unit sold for $27.50 in 1920. The high price was due to the double insulation layers of California Redwood, which were said to never absorb odors. The ad is from 1923.
"Problems" (but not to us):
- The "HI" etched in it was there when we got it and the center has been "polished" out because a runner that has sat there on and off for a couple decades. Not sure if oiling it is a good idea to bring back the shine - leaving that up to buyer.
- It also came with the white paint splatter on the side.
